About ALLY Advocacy Center
ALLY “A Life Like Yours” Advocacy Center fills the unmet needs of the community by providing free information on disability rights, guidance, support, events, and workshops for children with disabilities, their families, and the professionals who work with them.
ALLY is your community resource for disability services in Loudoun County. When a parent first learns that their child might have developmental delays or their child has a disability diagnosis, we are here to guide them.
We Are Here To Help
We are here from early intervention, through navigating Individualized Education Plans, to transitioning from public school and beyond. ALLY is here to help at the start of the journey and through the lifetime of the person with a disability.
We can help through consultations, workshops, and parent support groups. And we are also a place for fun and recreational activities. We will make sure you know your rights. And be here for you.
Information & Referrals
People with disabilities often face many hurdles as they attempt to live their lives as fully-engaged, active members of society. Finding information and support regarding education, employment, public benefits, housing, and healthcare can be an overwhelming experience.
The staff of ALLY works hard to keep up to date on public and private programming, information and disability rights services available in the community. We work closely with families to identify local, state and federal agencies that provide the necessary supports and services they need to function in their daily lives. In addition, we collaborate with many social service agencies in Loudoun County to secure the best available services for our clients. We strive to serve those families in Loudoun County who are working but struggling due to the high cost of living in the area, low wages and the high cost of dependent care.
Individualized Education Plans (IEP) Consults
The core belief of ALLY is that children benefit most from their education when parents and professionals work together as partners.
Parents and caretakers experiencing difficulties or having concerns regarding their child’s IEP or lack of an IEP, may schedule an educational consultation, 703.777.1939
Parent, Caregiver and Professional Training & Workshops
We fill the unmet need of the community by providing trainings, workshops, roundtables, town halls and more to family members and caretakers of children with disabilities and the professionals who work with them.

Recreational Activities and Events
ALLY hosts year-round activities and events for children with disabilities and their families. We provide a range of opportunities to help create “A Life Like Yours”.
iCANBIKE CAMP : We partner with Tuscarora’s Husky Buddies Program to offer a 5 day Bike Camp for children with disabilities (ages 8-18)

Systemic Advocacy & Awareness
We help give a voice to disability advocacy issues at the local, state and national levels. We work to secure the full range of human and civil rights for children with disabilities.
We build relationships and collaborate with other nonprofits and governmental agencies to provide the opportunities, services, and programming that individuals need.
Disability Response Team
Disability Response Team, a group of Loudoun criminal justice and disability professionals, advocates, and family members dedicated to ensuring that criminal justice professionals have the tools they need to effectively serve people with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD). We are the first Disability Response team in the state of Virginia.
